Size of boot screen??

My new HP laptop has an interesting quirk. When I boot up, the boot screen
is reduced to a small portion of my display. Then when WinXP loads it goes
to full screen. Also, when I run DOS programs like Drive Image it uses the
smaller display.

Any way I can fix this?

Check in the bios to see if there is a setting to expand the desktop. As
different bios have different methods of changing settings and locations of
those settings you may find the information you need in the computer's
manual or in the help in the bios. My laptop does the same thing unless I
set this setting to enlarge the normal dos 80 column display to full screen.

I did and there is no setting. HP's website support has no information
either.

Next choice would be to call their tech support (a new computer will come
with a limited amount of free support) and ask them this question if the
bios does not have a switch for this.

Good luck..
