First time rigging up a computer...

I'm a newbie to building my own computer (I guess I've been living off of laptops and Macs my whole life). I'd like to build my own computer in hopes of gettng a decent top-of-the-line (or almost if possible) rig before I go to college.

I want to make sure that everything fits well together (and hopefully I'm not getting ripped off) before I whip out my debit card and get incompatible parts. I've posted the parts I am currently eyeing. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

More about first time rigging computer
  1. If you're a gamer, then here are my suggestions for changes:

    CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+

    Motherboard: Asus M2N-E

    Video Card: eVGA Geforce 7600GT
  2. Your case needs more lights on it  Seems okay otherwise.
