The Core 2 Duo X6800 that was for sale on the newegg.com website for ~$1350 is no longer there. Wonder what the deal is? Price increase?

With how overclockable the regular ones are, who is stupid enough (other than rich people) to buy an Extreme Edition? I mean we've already got people getting the cheapest one to just short of double its factory speed. Imagine doing that with an E6700. Double speed with that would be 5.2GHz. Even a 50% overclock would get you to just under 4GHz.

That's just unlikely for Newegg to have no Core 2 in stock, after all Newegg is one of the best online computer seller. Maybe their waiting to have a massive stock and then release it for sell at once. What's going on with this new cpu? :(

I talked to a NewEgg rep. and she said that they would be available within the next 1-2 weeks. Not much like NewEgg to be the last to have new stuff.

maybe they got too many questions about it or something, that one that was there had an ETA of 7/30 and newegg dosen't take preorders, since that one had an ETA of 7/30 my guess is they will put it back up then, and maybe add the rest of the line too

It's common that retailers just don't have them yet, or in very limited quantities. What little stock there was, was sucked up by big OEMs like DELL.

Newegg will quickly pull the listing if they don't have something in stock instead of leaving a listing there showing out of stock. They probably put the listing up, didn't get any in, so they pulled it. No big deal.

I was on the site when they had them in stock. They had them on 7/27. My friend who works there told me that had quite a bit, and they sold out extremely fast.

When an item is sold out and it is unknown when more will arrive, it may fall off the site. If there is a set date for more to arrive, then it will be put on auto notify.

Tiger Direct says shipping in 7 to 10 days for E6600.
Sadly they don't ship to UPS Store, even though they ship via UPS.
Maybe Tiger doesn't have them either.
Forced to order from newegg when they get them.

Dreams has it right! Big OEM's first, retail box products later. Bread and butter, then the gravy! 8)
