I can't install Windows XP on my P5WD2 Premium machine - XP locks up when trying to detect my system hardware (the very first thing it does).
I think it's because I'm trying to use a SATA hard drive, I've heard this mobo has some odd quirks about using SATA. I've read all the mobo documentation and searched the internet but I still can't figure out how to install Windows XP on a SATA hard drive with this mobo.
I already changed the mobo's BIOS settings to the AHCI setting for SATA drives and I got the 32-bit AHCI driver from the CD, but now I have no idea what to do. I think I need to install the driver, but how do I do this without Windows?
