Is it possible to do it in PocketPC2003? My flash memory that comes with
my iPaq is filling up quickly, therefore, when installing apps by
clicking the .CAB, it never gives me any option where to install the
apps, but default location \Program Files\<apps>.
What I'd like to do is to install 3rd Party apps in <Storage
Card>\Apps\<apps>.

The CAB files never give you the option, that's why I always click the
EXE on my PC to install to PPC. If you do install via a CAB you can
always cut and paste the directory to storage card and then create a
shortcut to the exe in windows/start menu/programs and delete the old
reference.

Sarah,
Yes, very possible. When you are installing an application on your PPC via
ActiveSync, you will be prompted if you want to install the application into
the default location. Choose no and a secondary dialog will be displayed
with a pull down menu. The pull down menu will allow you to choose Main
Memory or your Storage Card. Choose your Card and OK and off you go! :-D

Just a second note here... CABs won't give you that option that I described
in my first reply. It is only via ActiveSync that what I described will
work via the .exe install.

Thanks Nikki & Clinton.
I've never had any luck in installing apps via ActiveSync. When I tried
to install on my Windows, it is always complaint that I had bad setup
file, or setup file is corrupted or, some similar messages. Therefore,
what I did is just to extract the .CAB file(s) and use Exlorer to copy
it to my iPaq.
Anyone has any idea why it gives me so much trouble? Thanks

The only time I've had that is when I've tried to run an application
designed to be executed only on the PPC.

There is a freeware program for ppc's called "cabinstall" or something
similar that you can use to instruct the cab file to install anywhere,
including a storage card. google it.
