Personally i think football requires the most devotion with all the lifting and offseason work.

Sometimes you have to remind yourself it's your own life, live it.

Your momma...no wait, I just have to take out 5 bucks to get her!!! OOOOH! Seriously though, track is soo much harder. Track is the MAX of the human limit. It's getting better than perfection for running, throwing, etc.

but see football is the ultimate team sport...if anyone person misses their block or takes a wrong step the play fails and the team doesn't succeed. I admit track is pushing your body to its limits but it is definitely not as fast paced and bloody as football.

also..at least in our school people only work on track one or two seasons of the year. The second football seasons ends, it begins. People are back in the weight room lifting and running. and throughout the summer we have camp, and practice.

You're telling me a 6.3 second 55 meter or a 12 second 100 isn't fast paced? Better than what a lot of the fat or "big" guys on football teams can do.

Reply to Flamethrower205

thats a good point, martial arts does require a crapload of devotion if you want to be successful..the training and the advancing in belts takes years.

Sometimes you have to remind yourself it's your own life, live it.

but see you don't have to get back up and do it again after you run it. in football you do and although you may not be running as fast you are taking a literal physical beating as well

Sometimes you have to remind yourself it's your own life, live it.

Reply to No1kung1

Hmm, let's see- track practice! U get up, do it again, and when u run like shiit, coach gives u a beating  . There, it meets all teh requirements. Also, at track meets, u typically have more than one event.

Sig of the week.

Reply to Flamethrower205

but the same goes for football practice and its even worse..you are running, hitting and doing it over and over...and you get injured, not hurt but injured...yet you still comeback to practice because you know your team needs you. And the football coach yells too.

Sometimes you have to remind yourself it's your own life, live it.

Reply to No1kung1

In football, a lot of the time spent is killing brain cells so u're more liable to hit someone hard  where as in track, the time is spent on perfecting perfection.

Reply to Flamethrower205

nice wording...but i think you need to be more devoted to football than to track....

flamethrower, when you get in your stance to fight thats how you look, with your ass out and your arms almost touching the ground.

and yeah, lacrosse is a pretty rough sport, but rough is fun. and by the way thats 50 people who signed it in a high school of 400

Any elite level athletics require a equal amount of dedication. Football just represents the widest variety of athletes for any sport. Personally I think a running back or linebacker probably have to be some of the best all around athletes period. But are they in better shape than a decathlete?

Rugby

Give me a bunch of football players and convert them to Rugby players and watch the rugby players get annihilated. Yeah it's a rough sport but the hits in football are far worse than anything a rugby player could ever dream of dishing out. I'm not knocking rugby, it's a fun violent sport but your typical rugby player will get absolutely crushed by most football players.

GRRRRRR
YOU dare to oppose and disagree with me. The list with you MUAHAHAHAHA. Where the football players have the muscle the rugby players are more pain resistant. I found that to be personally and a few others. Not sure on the professional level

I think swimming requires the most devotion,
because last time it wasnt a sport, it was was a stuggle for life, ....I made it to the shore.

Reply to globe111

I'm referring to college and professional players. When you get to higher levels of play they become stronger and faster and hit like a ton. There is not one sport out that hits more brutally than football. Ask any wide reciever who stretches himself across the middle of the field to catch the ball knowing he is going to get killed about pain tolerance.

Once again I'm not knocking rugby, I think it's a wonderfully violent sport and on a toughness level I would rank those guys right up with football and hockey players. In some cases I'd say they surpass some of the football and hockey players due to the fact that some positions dont require alot of toughness in either sport. In Rugby everyone gets in the mix.

Anything goes when it comes to hoes cuz pimpin aint easy.

Ballet, gymnastics, and figure skating requires lots of time and devotion.

Snowboarding and Skiing require some serious lower body strength and upper body strength for coordination and balance. I snowboard...and fall a lot too :)

Crew, ever tried rowing 2000 meters as fast as you can? Ug...hopefully you have enough strength left to get your head over the side of the shell before it's too late.

football is a terrific sport, at my school we have to lift every day starting the week after our last game, and then we have speed clinics and camp and all this crazy [-peep-] during the off season..then the next season rolls around and we rape...we won the state championship 3 times in a row and then last year got to the semifinals
