I have a samsung lcd and when I tried to change the resolutions "with in the monitors range" It go either black or comes up with a floating box saying " not optimum mode. Recommended mode 1280X1024 60HZ. I unhooked it and hooked it to my other LCD and no problem. I reset the resolutions on it and plugged it into the Samsung and the same thing. If you try to boot into safe mode you get a black screen. After a will unplugged it might work. I even went to a new Geforce 5500/ 256 agp video card and the same thing happens. To me it sounds like the monitor is going wacky because it will work on another LCD. Bruce
