I was just wondering if I should use the 2 fan only power cables on the antec power supply for my case fans or should i just hook them to the mormal power connections? i mean would it really make a huge diffrence I am just afraid of the PSU controling my cooling...but tthis is my first build so thats why I am asking.

Thanks

I have an Antec Sonata case. It has a TruePower psu with two "fan only" connectors which I do not use.

While the "fan only" connectors reduce the noise produced by the fans, it does not provide the control to regulate fan speeds according to the temp of the components on the motherboard but rather the psu temp.

The Antec Sonata manual recommends-

"If you plan to use your computer system in high performance, heat generating configurations ( overclocking, intense gaming etc) connect your system fans to the standard connectors, not to the fan only connectors, as this will maximise your system's cooling capability and prevent overheating."

Hope this helps.
