For starters my card is the X1800XT 512MB. I am trying to connect my gamecube/other devices up to my computer's monitor via the s-video input/output adapter on my card. The whole setup works, i get a picture from my gamecube right on my monitor when i use a program like bsplayer or media player classic to display the live video, but the only problem is the video quality is very poor and the aspect ratio is off even when i set it to 4:3. Now is there any way to correct this problem like changing some quality settings somewhere? I've looked all through the Catalyst Control Center with no luck. Any Tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Thanks for the tip but still the same thing, it's like the settings on the actual card's software are set to low quality but i have no way to up the quality.

It's using a DirectShow filter, and nothing more - therefore there are very few configuration options. In DScaler, these are in the DShow -> Filter Properties menu.
The picture won't be great from a Theater 200 anyway. How bad is bad?
Yeah you are right on the money. The video looks better on my tv than it does through the card, which defeats the purpose of the crisper look. Is there any way to bypass the Dshow filter on another player? I would of thought spending that much on a card would at least include a good s-video input capture device.

The CRT hides a multitude of sins. The LCD just blurs them out with upscaling...

Not that I know of - which I'm afraid brings us right back to the beginning. DScaler is basically the simplest app for fudging an analogue capture into something that looks reasonable.
