i have a samsung syncmaster 740N 17" lcd monitor and right now im using Geforce FX 5200(i no im upgrading in couple weeks) but right now i get alot of ghosting when i play games espcially like nfs most wanted and san andreas. Is this because of my Video card ? wierd part is that when i play a game like NHL 06 with maxed settings n 1280x1024 i dont see no ghosting at all , even though players moving fast on the ice.

So if i buy a new video card i mean a really good one , wil the ghosting reduce because my lcd response time is 8ms

did you leave motion blur on in these games?????

that might just be the cause of the ghosting.

well i know that NFS had a blur opiton. thats the ghosting. and im pretty sure that GTA has one too...

ur screen is fine. ur graphics card is just shit. u will have to burn that kind of evil.

GTA's kicks in when you go really fast, like driving or sky diving.

yeh im most likely going to buy XFX Geforce 6800XT 256MB or Sapphire ATI Radeon X1600 Pro 256MB because when windows vista comes out ill be buying a brand new comp with dx10 graphic card

I know GTAs can also do it at night with like the tail lights of a car. Both those games I feel probably do ghost a little but its because of the game, not the monitor or the graphics card.

Play a fps and see if it does it there when moving the mouse around a lot. Also remember that tearing can happen if you exceed your refresh rate on an LCD. Best to turn on Vsync. That way the screen won't try to refresh faster than the monitor.
