How is the task scheduler behaviour on Microsoft Cluster
nodes?
Is there a way to activate the jobs automatically only
on the active node?

Tnanks a lot!

My experience with “scheduled Tasks” on a failover cluster is:

I could not find any documentation on how to add the “Scheduled Task” as a
resource in a cluster group on the cluster node.

This is what I have done and it is working.

Log on to the virtual machine and scheduled the task in the normal way on
the active cluster. Make sure that the task is marked as active.

Move the resources to the Inactive Node. Log on and schedule the task on
this node in the normal way make sure the Scheduled Task is marked as
active.

Move the cluster resources back to the main node and you are done.

In short schedule the Task on both nodes in the cluster and make them
active.

In my experience the scheduled tasks is responding only on the active node
in the cluster.

Hopes this helps.

Addendum to my previous answer. Schedule the task to start on a shared
drive.

what happens is:

The active node have control of this resource and the other node can't get
to it. Therefore only the active node in the cluster can schedule the
task. This is not an elegant way to handle it but it works.
