CPU Prices

Hi all, just wondering if CPU prices have bottomed out yet or are they going to go lower in the near future. Looking to build my first soon and looking for a good deal (AMD preferably).
Thanks in advance, i've read this forum for about 2 months now and learned a great deal already!

They are pretty low now, and if they keep sliding, both AMD and intel will be paying people to build systems.

If you do go AMD, I would suggest looking at AM2 setups, since they have a longer lifespan, in my opinion, than 939.

I'm sure you can price out a system using AM2 or Core 2 Duo that will suit your needs.

When Kentsfield comes out early next year, Intel might integrate it in their current price structure. This would push the Conroe prices down, in which case, AMD would have to follow. This is assuming AMD gets "ramped" at 65nm, as I can't see them being able to go any cheaper at 90nm.
