hi,

i am working on a new system. in terms of disk drive, i have been looking into a raid array. i've lost too many disk drives and too much data - despite backups and recovery tools.

i was thinking that a raid system might be good. i could be sure that data was safe, and that would be a relief in this age of digital media.

what do you think ?

thanks in advance,

scott

A raid 1, 0+1, or even 5 is a great idea for data integrity. So advise many never consider: Most people rely on the on board controller for the raid config, but there are enough people who have on board chips fail, or even the whole mobo. I would recommend taking some time and buying a controller. You will be ensuring that the array can move across multiple rigs.
