Hardware compatibility

Hi there! Im busy putting a machine together and need to know if this CPU and Mobo combination is going work before I waste some money.

Mobo: Gigabyte G1 Turbo GA-G1975X (Already purchased)
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4GHz 4MB 1066Mhz (Will purchaes if compatible)

Anyone had the pleasure of running this CPU yet? Do you rate it for gaming?

Any definitive information much appreciated!

No bios update listed for conroe. I would write or call gigabyte before ordering. I did the same with ecs, and they responded with a fix in the next bios version. Mine took about 3 months to get. I have talked to gigabyte reps before. Maybe they can help you.
