a quick question. what RAM should i get for my new AM2 4200+ processor? do i have to get DDR2 800?

If I had to guess, the OP was looking for a relatively specific suggestion. Unfortunately I can't really give one having never built an AM2 system. Read the article that came out when AM2 first came out to see how much RAM speed affects the different processors. Personally I'd go with some Corsair TwinX 6400C4 which should be pretty good performance without spending INSANE ammounts of money. I'm pretty sure you can save some by not getting the lower latency "C4".
