I have DDR1 1gb of ram from my old board, I have bought a Gigabyte GA-8I945PL-G board for my new processor (805)- I would like to know if I could use my old DDR1 for the time being until I am able to purchase some DDR2 ram for the new board

thanks

If i'm correct you wont be able to use your "old" DDR1 RAM, since the MB is set to DDR2.
I'm affraid you are going to have to invest in some new DDR2 RAM, a good choice - CORSAIR XMS2 2GB A good cheap pair of DDR2 RAM, i'm buying them myself for my own Rig. btw :P
