Does anyone know how to fix or get data from a ntfs dynamic disk with
a corrupted partition table on it??? My WD utility that came with the
drive can fix ntfs basic disks but not dynamic disks. ???

Need more detail?
System boots normal (ie drive is identified by BIOS)
Win2k starts
gives error: Disk I/O STATUS = 00004000
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Event Log entry:
Event ID : 3
dmboot: Failed to Start Volume# (x:)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WesternDigital 100GB - BB series, 3 partitions:
1) 31.06 GB, 2) 31.06GB, 3) 31.03GB
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks in advance,
rob

Hi Rob,

I'm by no means an expert in this subject matter of Dynamic Disks, but since
I'll try to assist you to the best of my ability. Have seen the following
article yet and tried the resolution outlined in this article?

236086 System or Boot Disk Listed as Dynamic Unreadable in Disk Management

I had the same problem last night. You need to use a program called
"R-Studio". It's normally 80 bucks from their website, but I couldn't
afford that so I found it elsewhere (suprnova.org). It scans your drive
and finds all the files that were "lost" because of the damaged
partition. I had to buy an external hdd to drag everything off of it,
then I reformatted the disk, and put everything back on it. Everything
is working fine now.
