Hey guys I’m trying to decide which motherboard around the $100.00 to $200.00 range I should get:

These are the only two motherboards at my local retail store, I can get both of them for $154.00 (USD). Do you guys have a suggestion for any other board? If you choose one or the other could or another could you please explain why. Btw, here is the link to list of the other components of my computer:

I am going to build it around the Core 2 6600.

Thank you.

Are you trying to overclock? I need a bit more info before suggesting anything. A few on XS have been noting a problem with the DS3 bios and putting to many of the wrong thing on a single IRQ, as well as another issue which might damage one's dvd burner.

The Abit boards are rumored to be good performers.

If I had that much to spend on a board, I'd stick with the Abit. The 975 boards are expensive and have a lot of bios/dying issues. The P965 boards seem to be the better performer for the price.

Thanks for the reply, I don't plan to do much oc lol since I've never done it before but I may get a little more into it. Mainly I am looking for the most stable board within my budget. Given that info which one would you choose and feel free to suggest any others. Thanks.

btw I found an interesting article about how Abit will soon be bought out by another company, USI, could that effect motherboard support in the future?
