I have the following configuration : CPU AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual core 4200+, 2x 512 DDR 400 corsair cl 2.5, Sapphire Radeon X1600 XT 256 MB,
DFI Lanparty UT NF4 SLI-DR Expert and i'm having trouble with a few games, for example Lineage 2 C3 - in this game 90% of the times i teleport to another location the game closes and pops up a critical error screen, containing various errors like ---- OS: Windows XP 5.1 (Build: 2600) CPU: AuthenticAMD Unknown processor @ 9292 MHz with 1022MB RAM Video: Radeon X1600 Series (6575) IDirect3DVertexBuffer9::Lock failed(D3DERR_DRIVERINTERNALERROR). I've tried playing with video options on highest believing that it will slow down the processing, but no results, the games run too fast ..... I hope someone can give me some advices ty all

Maybe a new, updated driver will make the difference from running and being a crashman.
This error message is generated by Windows and from it there are two problems,
1. It does not recognize the CPU
2. It is way off regarding the CPU speed.
I would try installing a different video driver and chipset driver. This is a "just in case" step. Given the nature of the errors, you have a good possibility that the problem is hardware related.
If you have overclocked your system, the time has come to set it back to the manufacturer's specs and see what happens. Any time sensitive operation is going to give wild results if the system speed varies wildly and suddenly (like from 2.4 ghz to 9.29 ghz and back in the blink of an eye, which seems to be the case in your system)
If the problem persists, I'd say it comes from either the CPU or the frequency generator on your motherboard.
Download AMD Dual-Core Optimizer and AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor Driver for Windows XP and Windows. There is also a microsoft hotfix for dual core procs.
Did you by the way upgrade to a dual core proc from a single core and didnt reinstall windows?
I had this trouble and couldnt even boot up windows when I upgraded to X2. I had to reinstall.
I've downloaded the AMD Dual-Core Optimizer and for now the games have stopped running wild, no more restarts in order to be able to play them I didn't had the chance to test Lineage 2 C3 but the C4 works fine So thanks again for your trouble, and if i encounter more problems i'll post again.
