Hi guys, i'm planning to upgrade this weekend going to conroe.

I'm wondering what mobo i should get to pair up with my E6300. Any good suggestions? I'm on a tight budget only 600$+ to spend, and i need some ram as well. Here are my ideas, tell me if this is flawed or not..

CPU : Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 1.86GHz / 2MB Cache / 1066MHz FSB / Dual-Core / OEM / Socket 775 / Processor

MOBO: Asus P5B Socket 775 Intel 965 Express + ICH8R Chipset Dual-Channel DDR2 533/667/800 Gigabit Lan Intel High Definition Audio PCI-Express x16 Graphics 4xSATAII

RAM :Corsair TWINX 1024MB PC5400 667MHz Dual Channel DDR2 Memory (2 x 512MB)

anyways those are just my ideas, roughly about 665$ in CAD.

I dont know what your running for video but it may save you a few bucks if you wait a couple weeks for the new Nvidia 590 chipset boards to come out. In anyevent after they are released other mobo prices will likely drop.

Running for video? Do you mean my video card? I'm using a Powercolor x800xl 256MB video card. 400/1000. I run my games at 1280x1024 res. Upgrading my cpu was an alternative, from choosing a x1900xt and a new psu. Cuz new gen games require dual core cpus right? So i think upgrading to conroe would be a better choice then a high end card for now.

Then for a board id reccomend the DS3 or the Abit AB9. Ive read the oc potential for both boards are insane. Some reports of reaching 3.5+ghz on the DS3. You may be able to get higher on the Abit.

The one you chose i know little about, from the reviews tho it seems like the sound is crap.
