hey guys, i have recently bought a new pc. here are my specs

Pentium D 805 2.66ghz
Asrock 775 Dual vista PT880 Ultra
Xpro 460W Quiet PSU
Dual Channel DDR2 OCR 1gb ram
160gb Maxtor hdd, 7500 r.p.m
XFX Gforce 6600 GT
Creative Sound Blaster Xtreme music

i wantd to overclock my cpu to 3Ghz atm, b4 i go and buy a new cpu fan as i am still using stock. But i had trouble rising my FSB to 140, it wouldnt POST, i talkd to a mate of mine (experienced overclocker) we noticed that the cpu voltage was only 1.26, this was on cpu-z and my bios and also speedfan. i tried updating and flashing my bios, hoping it wud reset my cpu voltage, but this did not work. ive seen that the stock voltage for D 805 is 1.3V and on your screenshots of wen D805 at stock, it was 1.33V. Ive checkd on my bios, there are all the voltage settings, but they are greyed out !!1  i duno how to enable them so that i change my voltage. I have just downloaded right mark cpu utlilty, that says that my current voltage is 1.313V, is this wrong? because both my bios and cpu-z say 1.26V
hopefully u guys can help, i cnt find any answers anywhere

Check to make sure the PCI and AGP/PCI-E are not being overclocked when you do it.

Remove the Sound blaster card and see if that makes a difference.

Should be able to get to 3GHz on nearly any board.

I got to 3.2 of the previous model to this one and to 3.6 on the 775twin-HDTV R2.

ok, i made a bad mistake on motherboard, but i was on a tight budget, but i dnt have any money to buy a different 1, im gona have to squeeze all the performance i can outa this 1. if there is any

Just put together a system based on the D805 and a 775Dual-vsta board. I was able to get it stable at 3.4GHz.

Ran windows and 3dmark 2005.

pentium d voltage spec is 1.2-1.45 or something like that.
i am able to ru n at 3.2 without any increase in voltage, on my water cooling setup ddr2 667 and my asus pr5d2-vm

All I did was

set the fsb to 160
set ram to 4 4 4 11 (but get the same result on auto)
set ram volts to high
disable thermal monitoring

seems that anything over 160 and I can still boot, but windows BSOD on start up.

no way to change volts so I guess thats why I can't get any higher.

ummmm, i changed my command rate to 1T.disabled thermal throttling, and set fsb to 160. it runs stable at a temp of 50 at full load

set your RAM speed to 400 Mhz and you should get 170 mhz with stock fan. i can get 172 Mhz fsb with my shitty ECS motherboard the one that does DDR and DDR2

Asrock board doesn't give you the choice. 533 or 667 only

Thats not bad as I have an after market cooler and it shows temp at 37-38 idle.

I wouldn't hold your breath hoping to get to 3.6GHz, best I can get so far is 3.4GHz

I had an asus board before this one and could get to 4GHz on air, settled on 3.8GHz and ASROCK at 3.4GHz only cost me about 200 points in 3Dmark05.

For a board that is less than half the price of some, its pretty good.
