Dear

The system gets shutdown or is in hanged condition at random andlogs a
message in System og with Event ID as 6008.Windows 2000 advanced server with
SP3 is loaded in it with one of my application running on the system.
On checking up with Microsoft Support it happens because
InitiateSystemShutdownEx function is being called?but i have checked none of
my application programs call this particular function?

kindly let me know what could be the reason for this problem and is there
any windows service which calls this particular function and when?
The solution provided by Microsoft says that this problem can be solved by
loading SP4 but one of my hardwares is not having support for SP4.

Last time I saw it it was caused by MS Blast worm. I do not remember
which SP has fix for it (probably, even SP4 has no fix and fix should
be installed separatelly)...
