Hy!
I am using an Acer N30 Pocket PC and bought an extra 512 MB SD-card to
expand memory. Has anyone an idea how I can use the SD-card for my
outlook-folders or at least to store the mail attachments on it?
Archived from groups: microsoft.public.pocketpc (More info?)
I believe that there is an option in ActiveSync to store attachments on the
SD card.

Not sure of your version but pocket outlook on my machines has an option for
it - Accounts\Storage\checkbox Store Attachments on storage card...

I have activated this option in my mobile outlook. But this also uses an
extra part of internal memory. (There is a 2 MB memory which works like a
memory card)
But I can not switch over to the external SD-card.
Thanks!

Some devices name their storage cards "SD Card" instead of storage card,
which can cause problems. To verify this, go back to the mail
Accounts\Storage option for the storage card attachments and see what it
says is available on your card (Should see Main Memory first line, Storage
Card second line) If it says "0" or "not installed" this could be the
issue.

If view "memory" in "setup", I see the following:
Main memory: 55 MB (devided into data and programm memory)
If I tap on "memory card", I get 1.84 MB called ROM storage (not realy a
memory card) and a second item SD-MMC Card with 483.56 MB free and nothing
in use.
Windows seems to work with the internal part as a memory card and I have no
idea how to change this.
Thank you for your help!

Can you see the settings from within pocket email itself - go to
Accounts\Storage ?
Should be two lines at the top (if using a recent version )
Main
Storage Card
Then the checkbox to use storage card for attachments, etc.
I was curious if Pocket Outlook had a size available for the storage card
above.
If pocket outlook cannot see the card properly it will not work.

I have rely 2 lines there:
1st: main memory
2nd: memory card (but only 1236 kb free memory)
this is exactly the same free memory like in settings - memory - memory-card
(but called ROM storage there)
(I have problems to use the correct words because I am Austrian and working
with the german version)

This might be the problem - You do not have only 1.2 meg free on your
storage card, correct? There is a registry hack that might help pocket
outlook to see the memory card properly.
Using a registry editor (resco, etc.), look at the
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\SDMemory or SDMMC. Is the
value of the "folders" key "Storage Card" or "SD Card"? There have been
instances where this needs to change to "Storage Card" before pocket Outlook
will recognize the card properly. Caution is warned heavily here, and I
cannot be certain as to what your registry contains exactly, but it should
be similiar. Also, please note that, if you change this value, the path
(after soft reset) will be \Storage Card\directory, not SD Card\directory,
for ALL sd card directories - in other words pre-installed programs on the
SD card will break, and will probably have to be reinstalled. Either way,
a backup is highly suggested before trying it.
Forgive me my lack of speaking high german, but you are doing fine.
