Running 75 processes-is that normal?

running 75 processes-is that normal? I only have 4 GB RAM

No 75 running is way to much imo!
Type System configuration utility in Start search window.
Same thing as msconfig from older win OSs.
Go to startup tab and uncheck unneccessary programs.
I have 4 start-up items and actually could be only 1 though.(i have some specialized hardware)
Also use http://www.blackviper.com/2010/12/17/black-vipers-windows-7-service-pack-1-service-configurations/
To set-up services and shut-off unneeded services.
I have between 42-50 running processes depending on what i'm doing.

Windows 7 alone can have up to 165 services

I seem to recall an article that Win 7 had 50+ after a fresh install.

I have been optimizing very much lately.. Win 7 Home Premium x64- I got as low as 29 processes, even with audio drivers for my dedicated sound card. Any lower, something, somewhere will not work properly.
