i have a question. i am currently pricing a computer right now and when it comes to graphic cards there always seams to be confusion. can you help me.

eventually i want to put 2 of my chosen video cards into SLI

out of these two cards what one do u think will be better???

the 7800GTX is $295
the 7900GT is $279

what one should i buy? would the 7800 be better even though it might get outdated faster? say 6 months down the road i want to put in SLI so i can keep up with gaming demand, am i not going to find the 7800GTX?

i would like any imput :) thanks.

The 7900GT is superior across the board....although it might not be a huge performance increase, its still there. Not to mention the fact its $20 cheaper a card..... the 7900GT would be my choice.

It's also a FANTASTIC overclocker.

And if you're feeling daring you can voltmod it :-D

Even though I've had no say in the topic, I agree. The forum seems to be a load better after Core 2 Duos release....
You kiddin. Right? Look at the CPU forum.

n00bs complain: "where are core 2s on newegg, wha wha want my mommy wha wha, wheres core 2, wha wha, its not in stock, wha wha "

I don't know. I realize what you are talking about, but it wasn't as bad as the horrid spam and speculation that was pre-release.

I agree 100%. Since the release of C2D, for some strange reason, the forums seem much more bearable.

People seem to be more... civil?

It could also have to do with 9-inch's temporary ban.

News to me too, when was this?

Yeah, some of eVGA's superclocked series can hit 1700Mhz on the memory, or close. I believe eVGA did a volt-mod on them, for they can sometimes OC GTX and beyond.

Go for the 7900 GT, no doubt. If you still crave power with your single 7900 GT, buy yourself a new cooling system for your card then voltmod it and overclock to 7900 GTX speeds. ;-)
