USB overload?

When you say it scans I assume you mean when copying, and not scanning to the
PC.
I would expect that if the USB interface on the printer is damaged you would be
unable to scan to the PC but scan to print may still work.
Since you have the same problem with a different PC I suspect the interface is
damaged, with most printers this would require the main PCB to be replaced and
in most cases it would be cheaper to replace the printer (unfortunately). I
have also assumed that you tested the printer on the second PC with a direct
USB connection (no hub) and a different USB cable?????

What voltage was the wrong mains adaptor?
