Hi there,

I had to reinstall my WinXP Prof. During install, I was able to use my PS/2
mouse, also, when the system restarts for the first time and the apps are
configured.

But after the first restart after the install, the mouse is gone. Plugging
in a USB mouse works fine but I would like to get my PS/2 mouse back to
running....

Starting the device recognition manually does not help!

Any idea?

Thanks,

Pascal

Can you update the mouse driver?
SP2 introduces the Driver Protection feature which blocks drivers known to
cause instability. I am not saying that is the problem for sure, but it is
the first thing to check.

Colin,

there is no mouse in the device list. So how could I update the driver? Yes
I am using SP2 but I installed it after the mouse stopped working. So the
problem already occured with SP1.

Greetings,

Pascal

Have you tested the mouse on another computer?
