To say the least I need a new computer and have money to spend. Here is what I have come up with myself. Would like to purchase this tonight so I can have it running by the end of next week. I have a sound card, speakers, and monitor. Thanks in advance for any suggestions and help.

Any specific reason why? Is it just that those are more powerful per wattage or more powerful in general? Last longer? Whats the deal?

Much better performance, more efficient, lower power consumption (although that's going to change. The TDP of the Core 2 chips is 65W, but AMD is starting to produce chips which also use just 65W), and yes, in theory at least.... longer lasting. Chips that run cooler tend to last longer, although that's also based on a theory... I don't know if it's actually been proven or not. I personally want cooler running chips though.
