Catalyst 6.6 and F.E.A.R

Ok guys, I have an X1900XT and have some wierd issue with FEAR. Here is the deal. I was running the 6.3 drivers before and was getting better frames in certain areas where there is fire and other effects in the game but with the 6.6 drivers those areas got worse! but other areas with lots of enemies and characters got much better with the 6.6's?!

Example, on the first level when you stop and look at the burning barrel outside I was getting 45fps with the 6.3's and with the 6.6's I am getting 36fps. All other areas without fire and special effects are better on the 6.6's and worse on the 6.3's. WTF????


I dont know if the trade off is worth going to the 6.6's considering FEAR is full of special effects! BTW the 6.7's do it too!

Well what I am saying is that performance was better in certain areas with the 6.3's and better in other areas with the 6.6's. Its just freakin wierd and it pisses me off because it makes choosing a driver to go with kinda tuff!

Yeah thats what it is doing. The areas that already ran great are running even better now but the areas that took a hit before are taking a bigger hit now. ATI claims 8-14% performance increase in FEAR with the 6.6 drivers and thats where I am confused.
