i have 300$ to spend on a graphics card (slightly over is ok too) and i want to buy an nvida card but the reviewers on new egg especially warn against buying 7900's the number of people who actully complain is probly pretty small compaired to the silent majority (hopefully) that was to busy playing games to write a review if there is actully some sort of article one problems with 7900's please give me a link. if you have a 7900 please leave your feedback on it and how long you have owned it and how much its overclocked i am curios to know how long the cards last

one last thing

would buying two 7600 be better then buying one 7900?

I like the eVGA 7900gt KO. The new rev..... par #584 is super. I have one in my hands right now, but I'm going ATI 1900xt.

eVGA has a lifetime warranty, and A+++ customer support. Methinks they are the best of the best.

If you're dead set on the 7900GT, do yourself a favor and do what the other poster said. buy the evga rev version.
evga was the only company to say hey the 7900's are bad, houston we have a problem. they changed the memory and voltage and fixed the problem.
XFX, BFG might make great 7800 and lower cards, but the 7900 is just a bad apple.

why the 7900 specifically. Personally I have a HIS ICEQ3 x1900xt and its a great bit of kit. High performance + low noise = :D

I have one of the non-revised eVGA 7900GT's, and I was (like you) a bit wary with buying one whenever I got mine. eVGA did reissue the cards, and as far as I know, they're making it pretty easy to return a card if you got one of the bad apples. As far as mine goes, I haven't had any probs with it. Mine is at stock clock of 450mhz with the larger hs/f. It makes a BIG difference. You shouldn't have a problem with it.
