Heh, how many threads are you going to make?

Everything looks fine.

The retail HSF should be good enough. Unless you like something else, you should be careful to be sure it will work on AM2 socket.

Not sure if a floppy is needed now days, unless a flash USB could be used instead for bios updates, or done in windows. ( for some reason I just don't trust it when its done that way, within windows that is ).

Heat Sink Fan. As Grimmy said, it should be fine.

I recommend this power supply: Power Supply Unit THough it has a handful less watts, it is likely much more stable. Stability is MUCH more importants than a few more watts.

I suggested an aftermarket power supply unit because the ones that come with cases are often cheap and unsafe to trust with your hardware.

He means Heastsink/fan, the stock one for AMD isnt bad.

I dont like that case/PSU combo, that PSU will probably fry in 2 months.

If it is a money thing you can find great viewsonic and samsung 19" LCD monitors for well under $300 that would be better than that AOC one, and would allow you to upgrade some other aspects that are lacking. I would also recommend 2GB RAM.

2GB RAM with a X2 3800+ is way better than a X2 4200+ with 1GB

2GB RAM with a X2 3800+ is way better than a X2 4200+ with 1GBI agree (with someone that agrees with me). As I stated before, that stock power supply isn't going to cut it. It could blow, and take your parts with it. I also agree with the two gigs of RAM, if you can afford it.
