N00b question: I have an Pentium 4 550 (3.4GHz) and was wondering if it can be used in a multi-CPU configuration on the same motherboard? I assume the answer is No but it doesn't hurt to ask, right?

The answer is no, you cannot use a Pentium 4 in a dual CPU setup. Same w/ Athlon 64's or X2's.

The only modern major desktop CPU's that can be used in dual CPU configurations are Opterons and Xeons.

k, thanks for the quick reply. I still have some headroom left with that processor in my two year-old gaming rig and was just contemplating future upgrade paths . . .
