This is a 2 part question, or maybe 3..

1. Wich company is best for buying the 7900 GT?
The cheapest i can find is 'Leadtek' or 'Point of View'.

2. I intend to OC the 7900 GT to the MAX so is it better to get a version of the card that is already OC a little and OC is furthur, or buy a stock speed version and OC the way i want because it dosent matter? I heard that not all 7900 GTs can OC to the top and that the already "somewhat Oced" cards have a better chance at it. Your call.

2B/3. What fan would let me OC is to 700/1900?

Thank You!! :D

No fan will let you do 700/1900 without a volt mod, 7900gts max out under 600mhz on the core. After voltmodding, get a vf900 from zalman. It should do the trick.

if you're going to buy a 7900gt get this one.
the other 7900gt's have a very high rma rate.

here is a good after market fan

I agree 100%. I had that card over the weekend, and was able to OC to somewhere around 625 IIRC. I returned it because I also got the x1900xt at the same time, and preferred it for the games I was running.

eVGA is a top tier nvidia partner with a lifetime warranty, and the best HSF I've seen on any card.

What is Volt Modding?

quite recently a conductive ink mod had been discovered for the 7900gt and doesnot require soldering. basically voltmoding is overvolting like cpu ocing. but in this case, since the 7900gt is basically a 7900gtx but at vcore 1.2v it does no harm to take it to 1.4v which is gtx voltage. Vrzone took it it 1.7v with soldering and got close to 800 on the core. inkmod can do 1.55v. if u want to vmod ram, just pencil the right resistor

also of note, this non soldering mod is reversible with alcohol, so if u fukc up your card, just clean it up and rma it lmfao... most unethical thing ever but they can't do crap

As a matter of fact: they can refuse your RMA because I've never heard of a company shipping a BIOS that overvolts your GPU. They can tell what causes the damage......so unless your prepared to suffer the consequences that can occur, I wouldnt risk it.
