Any opinions? I was thinking the Zalman VF700.

This is for a 7600 GT by the way =).

well i plan to upgrade when the DX10's come out. So i dont want to sink a ton into the best of the best right now. Just a 150 dollar jobber to hold me over.

Well x1900 prices are gonna drop soon w/ x1950 coming out. You can probably get a much better card if you're willing to drop a little over $200.

However the coolness factor from saying you're waiting for DX10 is quite tempting. Decisions, decisions.....

I don't know about the best, but i am completely satisfied with Zalmans cooler! It's quiet, relatively easy to install and i can overclock the GPU at least 10% mere than with the stock cooler( at least becouse i didn't go further, although i obviously could!). Best money spant

I'm using a VF700-Cu on my 7600GT, and it is essentially inaudible, especially compared to the stock turbofan. I'm not overclocking, but it seems to do well enough.

Dosn't sombody make a fanless version of the 7600? I know thermalright has a large heatsink that looks like it could passivly cool.

from what i can find, the vf900 is the best for the job. Its just a vf700 with heat pipes.

I agree. The Zalman VF900 is the best aftermarket cooler available.

Do you already have the 7600GT? If you don't, get an eVGA. Their warranty lets you change the cooler and overclock it without voiding your warranty.

Or, you could get a passively cooled Gigabyte 7600GT, with a heatpipe cooler that actually outperformed the stock fan cooler.

Or, you could get a 7900GT from Gigabyte with a Zalman VF700 already installed and pre-overclocked.

Decisions, decisions...

Sure. Check their website, that's where I found out. As long as there's no physical damage to the card, like a scorch mark or anything that would result from overclocking, you're good.
