since we're talking about prices, how much can I ask for this:

CPU: Intel Pentium I MMX 233Mhz
MOBO: dunno, chipset intel triton
RAM: 4x16MB EDOSIMM
HDD: WD IDE 30Gb 7200rpm
VID: XFX GeForce 2 MX400 64MB PCI

What coul I do with that piece o crap? (if it does outlook xpress and internet explorer @reasonable speed then it works )
What linux distro could I use there? (windows-like, for my grandma :p)

How about my uncle's OLD rig?

AMD 33mhz with TURBO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(+2Mhz xDxDxDxD)

RAM: 4x1Mb SIMM

As you already know, they're worth nothing. Find an organization that will refurb them and donate to needy children in 3rd world countries.

You can build a better computer than that for $500 bucks...
I'd say $300-350

What's funny is that the combined value of Office and Windows is more than what the whole computer is worth. How about you get a new mobo, video card, and 2GB of RAM; you won't get more than $400 for that computer.

I just bought a new card just like yours for $106 after $30 rebate. I doubt you'll get more than $70-$75.

I already live in a 3rd world country :p

I realize they're pretty much worthless :p I was just trying to get some humour to the post :p
In fact, I wanted my uncle's old rig just to keep it as an archeological piece of rubbish...Imagine ten years from now if you suddenly showed a 1Mb SIMM module to someone xD "what he HELL is that???"
