I have tried both the jumper mod and making my own bios through ITK and both at the same time!!! I can't get my PC to post at 1333.

I have a e6400 and when I did the jumper mod I did get control over the FSB however whenever I set the bus speed to 1333 the PC would shut itself of turn back on post but my settings wouldn't be saved. Once I got back into the bios I notice the fsb was as 1333 but it said my CPU was at 4.66 GHz? So I tried 533 FSB and it set teh CPU at 1.86. Its like it set my muliplier to 14? WHY!?!?!

This is the case with both 1304 and 1334 versions of the bios.

So I tried to use ITK made my own bios with the multi set and locked at 8 and it still will not post with or with out the jumpers solderd with conductive ink. What am I doing wrong? It jsut reverts back to the default config.

Mind you this board CPU will run at a higher FSB that this using 1066 = 30%. But I top out at 2.77 GHz (see SS below).

Why can't I use 1333 as a starting point?

I am having trouble understanding what you are trying to do. If the best you can get is overclocking the CPU to 2.77ghz with a stable system then that is pretty good.

i do understand you have a core 2 duo e6400 2.13ghz cpu that you are trying to overclock. And you have been able to make changes to the FSB to overclock. But what motherboard do you have? The boards FSB should max out at 1064. where are you getting this 1333 from.

Moot point as I am getting the Asus board.

The D975XBX board only let's you overclock the system bus by 30%. So if you have a 1066 bus =266 FSB you can only reach a FSB of ~345. So the only way to run a hgiher FSB is to mod the board or make your own bios and force 1333 as the bus (333) speed and overclock based on the percentage setting in the bios which doesn't work over 30%.

If you can get the 1333 strap to work then you can get a max fsb of 433 which would be a clock speed on my chip of 3.46 max vs 2.77 if you use 1066 (266) as the starting point.

Any way I am getting the P5W -DH board on friday and i think I can hit a FSB of 400 with out "too" much trouble.
