According to this post from the http://techreport.com/forums/viewto...p=588980#588980
(I don't know if he enabled VT in the bios? or linux ignores it?)

Does anyone have a /etc/cpuinfo of a E6600 E6700 or xtreme edition? I find that the flag vmx "Vanderpool/Virtualization Technology" is missing from the 6300 post in the first page. Can anyone confirm? Thanks

Sorry to tell you this but the e6400/6300 are based on the allendale Die and not the Conroe, they removed 2 meg of cache and Vt to make the die smaller.

To have Vt you need a 6600+....

Edit: I checked more in depth cuz I was'nt sure and the 6300+ seams to be conroe anyhow, gues my info was outdated. According to iteration's guid the 6300+ do have VT...

It might need to be activated in the Bios...that might be the problem, or you program might be lying
