Hi guys.

I have 2 sticks of 256MB DDR333 Ram.

Which is the better configuration:
(1) 2 Sticks in Single Channel or
(2) 2 Sticks in Dual Channel ?

PC is P4-2.4GHz running Windows XP Pro.
Normally used for Surfing, E-mail, listening to MP3s, watching videos and some office applications.

Thanks in advance.

there is no reason to use single chanel memory if you are getting 2 identical sticks. duel chanel is twice as fast, at least theoredicaly.

dual channel. but i doubt you will feel much difference with the applications you are using. dual channel feature is motherboard dependent. so if your mobo does not support it, dual channel wont happen even if you have 2 identical sticks.

I didnt quite understand how to set between Single Channel and Dual Channel. Say i have 4 DIMM slots and 2 sticks.... and colors of the DIMMS alternate between Blue and White... would i put both sticks on the white to get Dual Channel?

Exactly. Both in the white slots or both in the blue slots and you're done. You can check later when you boot up with CPU-Z if you have dual channel or not.
