Oh man, after just visiting the CPU forum (Barcelona rumors), I suddenly remembered why I stopped posting in the hardware forums.

I think that maybe the "forumZ" name must really bring the retardZ in.

I miss SOD.

Yeah, it's chaos in there. Nothing but trolls who constantly flame one another and noobs who create useless threads. I'll post in there maybe once a day, but I largely ignore the CPU forum. Graphics Cards isn't so bad (yet)... the rest of hardware (hard drives, RAM, etc) are still useful.

CPUs I avoid. I post fairly often in general, and the coolers/heatsinks section, but yeah - I think the rest of the forumz needs to be 'Othered', possibly Wingdinged, to get rid of the idiots.

hmm, it would be better if people would stop acting like hardware that does not exist yet already does. just like in the CPU forums, there is too much R600 Vs 8800 threads and so many people are acting like they know the exact specs and performance or so it would seem. it is ridiculous but there are still people genuinely wanting answers to questions and they should not be ignored.

yeah i posted some(a little bit of actual) new news about the r600.
and had some guys say that my specs were wrong 8O

i had to say (#@hey dudes i just posted the info, i didnt make it) :x

That's one of the reasons wusy left. He felt that the forumz lacked the quality that they used to. It just seems that there is a bunch of kids running around with their parents credit cards in there. They (their parents) build one uber machine. Then they (the kid) pimps/overclocks it using somone else's advice and then think they're some sort of expert in the field.

Being one of RetarDz and trolls that Snorkius and Jesse are refering to, I know you guys give us an unbelievable amount of latitude and allow us extensive freedom in presentation methodology. The few regulars Ive seen you guys ban had to go a looooong, long way before they hit the end of the rope and stretched yours/Jakes/BigMacs/etc patience beyond its limit.

I cant imagine what Wusy did to go that far. Hell, it took 9-inch 3 friggin threads designed for no other purpose than to berate Jake in a very hostile fashion before Jake finally had enough. That was an amazing display of patience.

There's a lot of history there...... There is some pain there as well for some...... That's all I'm going to say about it.....

I'm (I think We're) pretty laid back..... If I don't get any Abuse Reports, everything is fine..... If I do get an Abuse Report, I'm going to deal with..... I won't argue about who said this or that, who's right or wrong..... My motto has always been "Make it Light on yourself", because I have the final say & will end it one way or another....

Having said that, I also have to say that I believe in this forum.... There are some of the smartest people in the world that hang around here & give advice..... If you get yourself known, there's nothing in the hardware / software world, that can't be solved.... For me, that's worth the price of admission, & was before I ever became a Mod.!!!!

Not to mention 56 threads asking for a topic addressed in a sticky, 42 threads asking if Barcelona will be better than Conroe, 13 threads asking for correct temperatures for the Core 2, another 3 asking for help in the wrong section, and a few flame threads for good measure.

Its just amazing when a person does get banned from THG though. They really have to want it...theres just no other way. It actaully takes deliberate effort to push you guys that far. There are so many sites out there, that if you contradict the mods opinions, or appear disrespectful, its an automatic ban. Here, I have never seen a single instance where a mod let their personal opinion or feelings outwiegh fainess.

I agree RC. Yes, there is people spreading crap in the forums outside of "The Other" but if you filter through the crap you can get advice from hundreds of people who all are only out to help you, not like going to a tech store and getting advice from one person who has commission or personal bias on their mind.

All humor aside... The forumz has helped me for years... I just never decided to register until recently. I would just browse thru find someone with a similar comp issue and find the resolution. You guys are doing a great job as Mods.
