PCI Soundcard give Performance?

Hi guys, my question is, will a PCI soundcard give me performance in games? I remember reading somewhere that a PCI soundcard will offload the CPU resulting in performance gains. of course, they won't be huge, but every little frame counts rite? Anyone reciently bought a new soundcard and experience performance gains?

The Creative line of card's APU's do offload some audio tasking from the CPU, thereby, enabling it to do other tasks. ...so, yes, there's a small performance gain to be had by going with a Creative audio card. There's tons of posts on this subject, in this forum. Check it out.
