cooling x2 3800+ s939 using xp-120 without fan

like the title says, can i expect the CPU to not fry when running at stock speed? I do have a 80mm intake and 120mm exhaust fan in my case.

i dont think it would fry per se, but i certainly wouldnt recomend it!

thank you very much. looks like i need to go fan shopping. Are the panaflo fans Thermalright recommend really as quiet as they claim at low speeds?

that is a nice fan with a free controller. a bit expensive though. how's this silverstone fan? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811999346 it's the FN 121. Do you think it has enough CFM?

XP-120's are very efficient with as little as 30-35CFM. That fan should work fine.

I have an xp-120 on an overclocked 3700 san diego. I use a thermaltake 120mm smart fan. It never spins faster than 1300 rpm's and temps never get above 46 c and that on rare ocassions. It is almost silent also.
