I looked and looked and decided on this M2N-SLI Deluxe motherboard. I didnt look close enough. I read tonite where when used in SLI configuration-its only running in X8 mode. I guess my question is, Will I notice this playing games when my video cards are GF6800XTREME 256. I like FPS shooters but Im not a cutting edge gamer. I want to return and get the 590 m/b...but if I cant tell the diff...I could use this for a year or two then upgrade. So will I notice the difference ?

No, you won't be able to tell the difference. Partly because no card can fill 16x/8x lanes of PCIe bandwith, and mostly because you have such weak cards. There is nothing extreme about the 6800XT

how appropriate that Tom's provided me with a nice graphic from:

If PCIe x16 isn't much faster than AGP x8, then the full bandwidth isn't being used (despite PCIe x16 being able to handle a lot more).
So running in x8 SLI, i would hazard a guess, would only be very marginally slower than x16 SLI (if at all).
