Yup, they want to get the most outta who ever wants to get that CPU now. But the Egg or any other place isn't forcing people to buy 'em, but when they go "Out of Stock" all the "I would pay almost anything" crowd comes a yelling.

I'm still in the waiting bin for motherboards, myself, and if the prices are still high by September, when I have my C2Ds, then I'll pay what I think is best for me.

The price gouging is ridiculous, but not as ridiculous as the people who do pay this premium for "first one on the block" bragging rights.
