They could create a 7 inch Nexus variant with AOSP on it, leave it developer-friendly (like Nexus 10) and compete directly with Nexus 7. Given their quality hardware (and now their experience with Nexus 10) it should sell like hotcakes.

Needless to say, this goes for their upcoming SGS4, as well (vs. Nexus 4).

uhhh.. sorry, I like samsung, but this doesn't seem smart. The Note II has the same specs but just 1.5" smaller. I can only see this do well at a price point of 199-250. But you can upgrade to the phone version Note II at that price and you get phone functionality included. I dunno, maybe I'm not seeing the market value but I guess there's a place for everything.

Wacom Digitizer pens dont work with that high resolution ... dont expect a "note" with 2560x1600 display

Almost all samsung devices are also a phone, they have made it 7", 7.7", 10.1", all able to place phone call. So it is unlikely this 7" Note is not a phone as well. The only differences is, whether you want to buy seen making phone call with such a big device.

Exactly what I am waiting for, A 10inch Galaxy note 10.x with 2560x1600, Must have stylus and micro sd card slot.

If your willing to settle for 5" display (bit smaller than Note II) that is 1080p you can find those, the S4 should be that too.

To each their own, but man, the Note 2 screen makes my wide-gamut desktop monitor look washed out (it's still a great monitor, but there's an obvious difference). Most tablet LCDs are pretty unsaturated; I doubt you'll see one with anything like an aRGB gamut anytime soon.

Really? I was unaware of that limitation. I'd settle for 1920x1200 if the screen is otherwise excellent, and I know Wacom pens can handle that (since that's the resolution of the Cintiq 24HD). I just can't see buying a 10", 1280x800 tablet at this point...

Love to make phone call with it, I'm already making phone calls with my Nexus 7, limited to wifi only now. This can replace both of my Galaxy S3 and Nexus 7
