It is the visuals that make Broken Glass worth playing through.
The mod is designed for low level characters, with the first
clue being readily visible in Scyda Neen. The clues are
straightforwards to follow, and usually end up as notes or books that
you can carry around (rather than as pages in your journal). This is
actually an asset as you wont be able to play the mod through until you
are a little stronger. Although you encounter the clues as a level 1
character, my level 1 character abruptly ran from the cave clue 1 leads
you to with the red haze of death glazing over my eyes. I finished it
around level 14, and nearly died again at the end.
The story line is adequate, but simple. What makes the mod worth
playing is the visuals. They are both a bit different than what
you've seen before and very much in keeping with the game. Which isn't
trivial to accomplish.
There are no uber items in the mod, but there are a couple of swords
comparable to the nicer weapons found elsewhere in the game. They,
like the rest of the mod, are visually pleasing. I might have really
grown fond of Sally's Sword....but Lilacor might have gotten jealous.
