I just noticed that I while I am able to access the Netflix home page, I am
not able to sign in as a member to manage my account. I am told that "The
page you are looking for cannot be found". I have no problem when using my
desktop. Since Netflix uses a secure server, it dawned on me that my
problem might be caused by the possibility that PIE does not support SSL.
Does anyone know if that is true? I might have to move to a browser like
NetFront 3.1 if that is the case.

Pocket Internet Explorer definitely supports secure connections. However,
for some earlier models the encryption pack required a download. If you are
running 2002 or greater this *should* not be a requirement, manufacturers
do vary at times.
As a test I just tried accesing the login page at netflix, and it came up
with no problem. Perhaps they were just having tech issues earlier ?

It might be something to do with the client side scripting. I'd see if
it works on your desktop with javascript turned off.

It's not reaching the login page that gives me a problem, it's after I enter
my userid and password. I'm running PocketPC 2003 on an HP 2215. I've also
run the most recent ROM upgrade. So my assumption is that I should have
everything in place. I can't see where I can tweak any scripting settings.

Must be something else. I turned javascripting off and was still able to
login successfully from my desktop. I decided to login on some other
accounts that require SSL and found the same results. If using SSL is
supported in PIE, I must have it disabled or something. I can't figure how
to toggle it on.

As a test, try accessing another site that you KNOW has a page using SSL
such as Amazon.com. That should identify wether the problem is SSL on
the PPC or something funky with Netflix.

Well, you seem to know your way around your device, so at this point I
would probably do a backup, hard reset and try it before restoring. You may
have something causing you some grief, and it may take trial and error to
find the culprit . If it does not work with a "fresh" device then you have
eliminated a lot of variables at least, and leads to the rom update being
suspect. This is said with the assumption that your laptop is using the
same connection type and it can hit the ssl pages.

Cookies are often required for logging into web sites. Did you turn off
cookies?
If you have the latest version of Avantgo, there is a web browser oof sorts
with that. Worth a try.

I recently had the same problem, since I'm clueless about PIE I'm using
Tweaks2k2 which makes your PIE pass as IE6 just by the click of a button and
barabing! is done, I even bought the program is very useful and you don't
have to mess with other registry nightmares....IMO
