Help with matching MOBO and RAM

Hi all, I keep hearing that it's important to match up particular RAM with particular MOBO's and I'm somewhat confused by this. I keep reading reviews saying "be careful when picking RAM" and I'm not sure how to be careful. Right now, my build includes this MOBO:

and this RAM:

Is this combination ok and how do I tell for myself?

  1. Any clues?
  2. the motherboard uses DDR2 rams which matches the one you selected.

you didnt mention your processor though.
  3. Oh, sorry. It's an AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Orleans 2000MHz HT Socket AM2 Processor Model ADA3800CNBOX which you can see here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16819103735
  4. I'd download the asus manual off their website and see if brands are listed. Patriot should work fine. I've never had a problem with it.
