Raise the FSB and voltage. :p

Agh! newbie with a 1k CPU run for teh hills!

Raise the CPU speed by about 10mhz. If it loads into windows rinse and repeat. Once you hit a wall, raise the voltage by one setting in the bios, then repeat the first 2 steps again.

Go through this process till you are satisfied by the OC you achieved. Then, run a benchmark or two and see if the system is stable over long periods of time. If it shuts down while a benchmark is running start lowering the FSB and voltage till you can get a stable benchmark. I suggest Stress Prime.

This is of couse if you feel comfortable Ocing. That chip will outrun any other PC processor on the market as of now, so you don't have to go crazy.

I guess the real question here is... why the hell would you need to overclock that system? Are you trying to run Oblivion at 1900x1200?

It's not about need, heck, I didn't need the X6800! It's about the challenge.

just use the settings that they used on the tuning war thing here on Tomshardware review... they have all the voltages and stuff that they used on an air cooled X6800
