Hey y'all.

This is my first post, though I frequent the forums much just reading and whatnot.

Got the processor earlier this week, and I've been getting everything just the way I like it.

Here are the specs on the rig:

- Intel D975XBX Rev. 304 w/ unlocked BIOS
- Intel Core 2 Duo (E6700) ... 2.66GHz stock currently running at 3.0GHz (though it does run stable at 3.33GHz, a 25% overclock)
- Zalman CNPS9500 AT 2-Ball CPU Cooler
- 2GB Corsiar XMS2 DDR2 675 (PC2 5400) RAM
- 2x Seagate Barricuda 7200.9 3GB/s 160GB SATA Drives in RAID 0
- eVGA 7900 GT CO volt modded to 1.55V and overclocked to 650 Core/850 Memory .. cooled by a Zalman VF900-Cu
- Samsung 16x DVD+/- RW Burner
- Antec Performance P180 Chassis w/ 5 120mm Tri-Speed Fans
- Antec NeoHE 500W SLi-Certified PSU

Haven't done any performance testing, just a bit of OC'ing here and there.

The the proc. runs like a champ, and didn't flinch a bit in taking it up to 3.33GHz. Seeing as I don't NEED to overclock, I'll keep the frequency somewhat caged for now.

Idk how to attach pics here, so I linked them from another forum I'm a member of.

That is a massive heatsink on your CPU... that's really all I can think right now ;-)

Gotta love the Zalman. And the great thing is, it's highly efficient at keeping the CPU cool while staying deathly silent.

Nice desktop background

You gotta have something .. decent .. to look at while passing the time.

The GF doesn't totally agree with me on that one, though ...

Pretty nice rig.

Now that you have the system, you can get some bigger concert blocks for your desk. LOL j/k.

I like your case, too. I heard the P180 is a little difficult to put together. Is that true? I have the P160, and a Coolmaster CMStacker, but my Lian Li case has to be the best case I ever owned.

Wow, your rig is somewhat similar to mine [Intel 975xbx 304, E6600, Zalman 9500, 2 Seagate 7200.10 Raid 0, 500 Watt PSU, eVGA 7600GT, 2GB ddr2 800]. Except I'm still waiting on my 6600 from TD.

My question is what bios ver. did you have, and did you have to use another cpu [to flash the bios] in order to recognize the conroe?

Good luck on OC'ing, I plan on doing the same.

Nice machine, and besides the obvious(wallpaper) ..i happen to like your desk. I like what can be done with minimal dollars and a little imagination...Good work.

PS. Could you be so kind as to post your temps, please? I expect them to be good with the 9500.

Nice rig! Must be whoopin' fast...
I just got my new rig going yesterday and it is fast (installed WinXP in ~14 minutes, complete). Yeah, this E6400 is fast - much faster than A64 x2 3800+ for example. More like 4600+ (at least).
I can imagine the E6700! Brutal power...
Regards

Just turn down that bass, it might dismantle your desk. :p
He didn't get that desk online, he got it from a brick's and mortar shop. :D :D :D

I think it's sold in Newegg, you know one of the must have for extreme gamers. I can't have since I bang on the desk win I'm pissed off playing.
