You're doing ok, but you should be able to hit 3.0ghz and break the 10k barrier if you're memory isn't holding you back.

If that chip can hit 3.0ghz on air cooling then that may be my next upgrade.

It might need 1.50-1.55 volts to do so, though.

How much cache does that chip have? Is it the 2@512 or 2@1024?

2x512 - But cache is not very important on K8's.

I think if your power management is set to home/office desk, cool n quiet will not be enabled.

I also have a AN8-SLi, there is a cool and quiet option in the bios, but i forget where. Im at work now so I can't check either, but as someone else said it should disable when you set home/office.

Also, OCing is not always successful with X2's, my 4800 does not OC very well, but some ppl have better success than others.

my cpu is at 61 degrees when encoding a video , playing music and playing cs source, to hot ? should i buy another heatsink ?

Profile: old hand
More Information

61 degrees is about as hot as you want to go. Wouldn't be a bad investment to get some better cooling. Depending on your voltage settings, hitting 50c is pretty normal at full load.

The first batches of 4200/4400/4600/4800 didn't OC as well as the current ones. The minor things add up to better OC's! Lol. Anywho, the 165/170/175/180 opterons clocked better in their first batch, now they seem to be very similiar.

Seems a bit high but monitoring apps from mobo manufacturers are notoriously innacurate, give Core Temp a try.

Is the grahpics card overclocked? That's a really nice 3DMark score, especially for a single GPU system.

If you're having trouble with an onboard fan controller, move to an independent one.... How many pins you got? Using only the 3 to set the fan at a static speed and not using the 4th pin that controls it's variable part will set it at 100% all the time.
